About
Barclay Fernandez's passion for storytelling began while documenting his global travels during his service in the U.S. Army. Between deployments, he attended the acclaimed Brooks Institute, focusing on photography and visual arts. In 2014, he returned as a war photographer, capturing the daily lives of soldiers. After graduating, he moved to Texas to pursue his passion for photojournalism, working at multiple newspapers. Seeking new challenges, he transitioned to broadcast as a videographer. His dedication and talent earned him an Associated Press Award in photojournalism. Now, he is devoted to passing on his passion to the next generation by teaching photography at Showdown Ridge High School.
